Local gal at U-M children's hospital
HURON COUNTY - Ubly fourth-grader Isabelle Rutkowski, daughter of Tim and Victoria Rutkowski, Ubly, is at the University of Michigan Mott's Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor. She started experiencing seizures at school on Thursday, March 1, 2012. Isabelle is the granddaughter of Clarence and Christine Rutkowski and Bob and Mary Nichol.
To help with medical expenses through her recovery from this serious illness, a breakfast, bake sale, silent auction and live auction have been planned.
Friends will host the breakfast from 9 a.m. till 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 20 at the Ubly Foxhunters Club, located on Ubly Road (M- 19) between Bad Axe and Ubly. Tickets will be sold at the door.
During the breakfast, there will be a bake sale and hourly silent auctions, hosted by Woman's Life Chapters #859 and #813, respectively, and the Woman's Life Insurance Society will match the $500 raised for each of the events.
Immediately following the breakfast, there will be a Live Auction, beginning at 1 p.m., hosted by Chapter #875, with up to $500 in matching funds as well.
Donations will be accepted at any of the events. Monetary donations also may be made to the “Isabelle Rutkowski Fund” at the Ruth State Bank in Ruth.
At the Tuesday, April 10 Huron County Board of Commissioners meeting, Chairman Clark Elftman said, “I only met the little girl once, but we all know Tim. The last I’d heard from Tim is that they could not pinpoint why this was happening.” All commissioners were in agreement that the Rutkowski Family should be supported.
