Bearcats grab win in battle of the leaders

DECKERVILLE - The Bulldogs fell to the Eagles 76-58 on the road Friday, Feb 10.
Following the game, Owen-Gage had an overall record of 5-9.
North Huron at Peck - Friday, Feb. 10
PECK - The Warriors fell to the Pirates 58-39 Friday, Feb. 10.
The game was tied after the first quarter, but Peck knocked in three two-pointers and three three-pointers during the second, taking the score to 15-25. Peck continued to pull away in the third and fourth, outscoring North Huron 11-8 in the third and 22-16 in the fourth.
Leading scorers for North Huron were Dustin Siemen with 14 points and Evan Dhyse with nine.
Following the game, North Huron had an overall record of 5-9.
Harbor Beach at Ubly - Friday, Feb. 10
UBLY - The Bearcats beat out the Pirates 59-41 at home Friday Feb. 10.
Following this conference contest, Harbor Beach had an overall record of 14-2 and a conference record of 5-2. Ubly had an overall record of 13-3 and a conference record of 5-2.
Cass City at Unioville-Sebewaing Area - Friday, Feb. 10
SEBEWAING - The Patriots bested the Red Hawks 46-33 at home Friday, Feb. 10.
Following this conference match up, USA had an overall record of 11-4 and a conference record of 7-1. Cass City fell to 8-7 on the season and 4-4 in the conference.
Caseville at Carsonville-Port Sanilac - Friday, Feb. 10
Heather Nowak led the team with 8pts and Ashley Osentoski added 6pts and 7 rebounds.
Bad Axe at Elkton-Pigeon-Bay Port Laker - Friday, Feb. 10
PIGEON - Laker was unable to come back from a 20 point half-time deficit Friday, Feb. 10, losing to the Hatchets 65- 45 at home.
Bad Axe came on strong in the first quarter, leading 24-8 at the buzzer. The Hatchets continued their dominance in the second quarter, leading 45-25 at the half. Laker defense slowed the Hatchets to only 20 points during the second half, but they were unable to cut the deficit on the scoreboard.
Adam Rifenbark led Bad Axe in points with 18, followed by Jeremy Palowski with 13 and Ben Braden with 10. For EPBP, Kyle Binder had 15 points and Evan Gascho had 14.
Vassar at Elkton-Pigeon-Bay Port - Wednesday, Feb. 8
PIGEON - The Vulcans dominated Laker 39-14 at EPBP Wednesday, Feb. 8.
Laker was able to sink only 6 of 50 shots from the field
Reese at Unionville-Sebewaing - Wednesday, Feb. 8
SEBEWAING - The Patriots edged out the Rockets 64-61 at home Wednesday, Feb. 8.
Harbor Beach at Mayville - Wednesday, Feb. 8
The Pirates dominated the Wildcats 57- 30 at Mayville Wednesday, Feb. 8.
Harbor Beach raced to a 26-2 first quarter lead and led at the half 38-12. Mayville had 36 turnovers in the game, and 17 of them in the first half.
Harbor Beach had 10 of their 13 players reach the scoring column with four juniors leading the way. Jonathon Kraft had 15, Andrew Siemen had nine, and both Brandon Oswald and Jeremy Hanson scored seven. Harbor Beach JVs also won.
Bad Axe at Bay City All Saints - Wednesday, Feb. 8
BAY CITY - The Hatchets bested the Cougars 76-53 on the road Wednesday, Feb. 8.
The teams were tied at 17 after the first quarter, but Bad Axe pulled away in the second, outscoring Bay City All Saints 21-11. The Hatchets led 38-28 at the half and 57- 41 after the third.
Hatchets top scorers were Adam Rifenbark with 14, Jeremy Pawlowski with 11 and Brandon Dean with 10.
Ubly at Carsonville-Port Sanilac - Tuesday, Feb. 7
CARSONVILLE - The Bearcats took down the Tigers 60-47 on the road Tuesday, Feb. 7.
Port Hope at North Huron - Tuesday, Feb. 7
KINDE - The Warriors beat the Bluestars 56-43 at home Tuesday, Feb. 7.
North Huron was led by Dustin Siemen with 15 points, followed by Forrest Maxwell with nine and Kyle Case with eight. Port Hope’s top scorers were Cody Deer with 12 and Eric Koglin with 11.
Caseville at Owendale-Gagetown - Tuesday, Feb. 7
OWENDALE - The Bulldogs defeated the Eagles 57-45 in a hard fought game Tuesday, Feb. 7.
Owen-Gage led by 10 at half and eight going into the fourth quarter, and Caseville couldn’t close the gap.
The Bulldogs were led by Brent Stockton with 27 points and Ben Good with 12. Caseville was led by Tommy Kennedy with 14 points and Chase Louwers with 10.
