Veterans outpatient clinic to open November 1

The Bad Axe Veterans Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC), located at 1142 S. Van Dyke Road, Bad Axe, Michigan, will begin seeing Veterans on Monday, November 1, 2010.

Veterans currently enrolled in care at the VA Medical Center in Saginaw and interested in transitioning their care to the Bad Axe CBOC will be notified by letter of the transition process. Veterans interested in receiving care at the new clinic who are not already enrolled in care at a VA facility, specifically at the Bad Axe VA CBOC, should contact the VA Call Center at 1-800-406- 5143, extension 11230.

The community is invited to an open house from 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Friday, November 12, 2010, following an official ribbon cutting ceremony planned for earlier that day.

This will offer individuals the opportunity to see the clinic that provides top-notch, quality care to deserving Veterans.

The community’s support of this clinic is noteworthy and an invitation has been extended to the citizens of the Bad Axe area, and surrounding counties, to attend this very momentous occasion on November 12, 2010 at 2:30 p.m.

Workers recently completed a major renovation project at the clinic which is housed in a portion of the Huron County Health Department building.

Plans are underway to add additional square footage to the facility to allow for MSU Extension and other departments to utilize the building.
