Cass City Methodist to host dinner April 14

The Cass City United Methodist Church will host a lasagna dinner on Wednesday, April 14, at noon at the Cass City United Methodist Church, 5100 N. Cemetery Rd. in Cass City. The meal will be served family style with all the trimmings. Cost is $6 per person.Takeouts are available by calling (989) 872-4604 with pickup from 11 a.m. to noon or after 12:30 p.m.

St. Francis Borgia to hold sales, April 15-16

The parish of St. Francis Borgia, Pigeon, announces it will once again conduct its Annual Rummage, Bake & Bag sales in the parish hall located in Pigeon just east of the the Michigan Avenue and Caseville Road intersection. The Bake Sale will be Thursday, April 15 starting at 9 a.m. until all the goodies are gone.

The Bake Sale will be only on Thursday.) The Rummage Sale also begins on Thursday, April 15 at 9 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. that evening. The $1 Bag Sale, of selected rummage sale items, will be Friday only on April 16 from 9 a.m. until noon. The items each year usually include used items such as men's, women's and children's clothing, household items, books, magazines, VHS tapes, as well as assorted toys and children's games. The events are sponsored annually by the Church Altar Society.

Unionville American Legion breakfast April 18

The American Legion Post 421 in Unionville will be having an “All-You-Can-Eat” breakfast, including omelets at the Unionville American Legion Hall on Sunday, April 18 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets will be: Adult $6; Child (5-12) $4; Child (Under 5) free.

Burns Gallery hosting high school art exhibit

The Burns Gallery in Sebewaing will host its annual High School Mixed Media Art Exhibit by USA (art teacher Sean Gallagher) and Laker students (art teacher Ward Donavan).The exhibit, open to the general public at no charge, can be viewed on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4 p.m. through Sunday, April 18.

Wisner United Methodist to host supper April 23

Wisner United Methodist Church will host its Annual Spaghetti Supper on Friday, April 23, from 4-7 p.m. Included in the meal are a salad bar and a dessert bar. Tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for children 5-10, and children under 5 eat free. Takeout will be available.

Cross Lutheran School to host Carnival April 24

This year’s Annual Cross Lutheran School Carnival will be held on Saturday, April 24 at the school located at 200 Ruppert Street in Pigeon, just southwest of the traffic light. The family event, with games, prizes and a bake sale will run from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Proceeds will help support the school.

Unionville Spring Dance set for April 24

The Unionville Spring Dance with a variety of music such as Polka, Country, and Waltz is set for Saturday, April 24, from 7-11 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 2960 Cass St. in Unionville. Music will be provided by International Polka Association Hall of Fame member and Michigan Polka Hall of Fame member Eddie Siwiec as well as by Rich Lasceski & The Natural Tones. Contribution will be $15 per person at the door, which will include beer, pop and food.

Scheurer Hospital Auxiliary presents Spring Luncheon & Style Show Wednesday, May 5 at noon at Veteran Memorial Hall, 311 Main St., Pigeon. Tickets $10. Ubly Community Schools to host Kindergarten Round-up

The Ubly Community School's Kindergarten Round-up will be held on Wednesday, April 14,2010, between the hours of 1:00 P.M. and 5 P.M. at the Kindergarten Center.

Parents are to bring their child's birth certificate, immunization records and registration forms.

Appointments for hearing and vision screening and pre-school readiness testing will be made at the round-up.

Children need not attend with their parents.

If your child has not already been pre-registered, please call the Ubly Elementary Office before the round up at 658-8261 Ext. 213.

Civil War History meeting on April 14

There will be a Civil War History meeting on Wednesday, April 14 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sleeper Public Library, located at 2236 Main Street in Ubly.

Mom-To-Mom sale, April 17

A Mom-to-Mom Sale is set for Saturday, April 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bad Axe Junior High School Gym. Families will be selling children's and baby's items to other families. There will be a $1 admission fee. Proceeds go to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, Bad Axe First United Methodist Church Team. Hunter Safety offered April 22-23

Hunter Safety is being offered on Thursday and Friday, April 22- 23, from 5-9 p.m., and Saturday, April 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Thumb Sportsman Club on Minnick Rd. in Bad Axe.
