Mary L. Evola
Mary Louise Evola, 76, Bad Axe, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at her home in Bad Axe.
She was born on June 18, 1933 in Ingham County, daughter of the late Rev. Clifford and Lucile (Hedglen) Howe. She married Salvatore "Sam" Evola on March 1, 1991 in Perry.
Mary had retired from the State of Michigan, where she served for over 30 years with the Department of Social Services. She was a member of the Bad Axe Free Methodist Church where she loved singing in the church choir. She also enjoyed sewing, needlework, crocheting and painting.
She is survived by her husband, Salvatore "Sam" Evola, Bad Axe; two daughters, Joann (Paul Stramel) Evola, Roseville and Mary Ann Evola, Texas; a sister, Eileen (James) Gingrich, Bad Axe; a brother, Rae (Evelyn) Howe, Perry and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at the Kaufman Funeral Home, Bad Axe. Rev. Jerry Sutton, pastor of the Bad Axe Free Methodist Church, officiated. Burial took place in Colfax Cemetery.
Memorials may be offered to the Bad Axe Free Methodist Church.
